more learning

Wonder and awe equals Adrian and Aubrey for the day!
Cicadas leaving their shell are absolutely beautiful, with soft green and yellow wings fluttering in the breeze as they harden. Watching the boys discover it; breathtaking!
$1000 repair bill for the van is a gift when compared to a diagnosis of lung cancer; I maintain that our own troubles are always preferable to other's heartaches. Hugs to my dear friend!
I found some laminate that I like for the floor, so will add that to my chaos.
I'm sad that my friend who is dying isn't home and able to have visitors. I need to accept that I might not see her again!
I'm worried about 2 former students who are pregnant and have lots of mental health issues, it's just so hard!
Finding a small green John Deere tractor in the park after we lost it...St Anthony, thanks!!
Completing our separation agreement brings up sadness and grief that I keep thinking I've resolved; NOT!
I'm so very blessed! It's been a full and wonderful (as in full of wonder!) day and I'm grateful for ALL of it!
Love, elly

  1. I love this blog Elly for so many reasons! I want to share a few. Learning with grandkids is so fulfilling! It's like you are their encyclopedia and everything that is said to them is awesome!
As for your dying friend. I wouldn't take second hand information about visiting a dying friend unless it came from her. I discovered that had I not intervened for Sally, many people would of been unable to come. I would go find out myself, unless it's already been told to you by her.
Lastly, St. Anthony has been a great help here too!

Love you more because I can

  2. I'm with Roo. Go see your friend!! I can't imagine that anyone who's dying would not want to see a loved one?? And in this country institutions don't deny visitors to dying people. If some "person" is preventing you from seeing your friend, then I think you should challenge them! And if it's a long ways away or something then I will drive you, or fly you, or carry you. That last one only cause you lost a little weight!
Also I like the post a lot as well. Although I admit I'm pretty sceptical about the St Anthony stuff....
    Love
